Outlook and Word 2003

Under Vista ultimate the word 2007 trial was done and uninstalled. I
reinstalled the Word 2003. Eversince I downloaded 2007 I had nothing but
problems.

The word attachments that I receive (from *very* trusted sources) do not
open in Outlook 2003. I had to save to a folder, open Word 2003 and then open
the docs.
All *.doc files in "My Documents", now do not open in 2003 unless I open
Word first and then the file. Same is the case for Excel.

Here is what I have done to solve the problem, without success.

Under regedit, I got rid of Office 12. But it is still lurking somewhere,
and I do not know where.

In control panel, program association dialogue just would not associate
*.doc file with Winword.exe; it sets up only Wordpad.

Do I have no choice but to reformat my harddrive and reinstall Vista? Those
who are thinking of downloading the trial version - here is a lesson which I
learned the hardway.

Can someone help me with this vexing problem and show me how to fix this?

RE: Outlook and Word 2003

Try this to remove all of Office 2007.
