Concern: event log error 4201

Apologies if ive put this into the wrong forum.

Today i found an issue with my Event logs. They arn't working with
error 4201.
Ive found various references to people having this issue and a variety
of responces. The best i found was

http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/sho...&tf=0&pageid=0

A guy in that thread actually had a solution that appeared to work for
some people but i followed it through and it hasn't worked for me.

One post i found relating to this issue discussed respective
permissions on log folders and directories.
I found them at %windir%\system32\logfiles

On some of the files located within %windir%\system32\logfiles i am
seeing "Unable to display current owner" and am unable to set the
owner of the objects.

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone with any insight into this.

Of everything I saw in connection to this issue, that appeared to be the
best approach. since it failed, I don't see a lot of options. If this is a
relatively recent issue, you might try using System Restore to take you back
to a time prior to when this began. Start\Programs\Accessories\System
Tools\System Restore. While only meant to restore system settings and the
registry, as a precaution you should be sure your data is well backed up.

A few users mentioned a possible connection to OneCare Live, if you have
that installed you might remove it and see if that solves the problem.
Another, had originally done an upgrade install over XP, did an upgrade of
Vista over Vista and that resolved it for him. Again, be sure your data is
well backed up.
