connecting printer

I have a hpDeskjet 3320 and connot get Vista to recognize it. So far HP
hasn't been very quick in their response to solve this issue. I don't want
to buy another printer just because Vista doesn't recognize it. Does someone
out there have a solution to this problem?

HP is abit slow with drivers for old printers.
And for many of those they will not cretae new drivers.

What you might do:
a) Try if any type of printer offered by Vista works.
b) Try to install XP-drivers in compatibility mode.

A google search on hp deskjet 3320 vista driver gets many hits. I'm
not crazy about the idea of installing drivers that don't come from
the printer manufacturer's web site, but if nothing else worked, I'd
give one of these sites a try.

Re: connecting printer

Interesting. I didn't realize that drivers could come from someone else
other that the manufacturer. I have a HP Scanjet 3300c. HP doesn't provide a
driver for it and they say they never will. I did a Google search and can't
see any drivers for it. Does anyone know of one?

It's probable that the drivers google finds *do* come from the
manufacturer, but are just hosted on someone else's web site. But the
safest place to get any driver is always direct from the manufacturer,
and that's the point I was making.

If HP says they won't produce one, and google comes up short, there
probably aren't any.
