Because, you twit, the fear is that Office 2000 may not work with
Vista...that was the initial question.

It probably does but OO definitely does...and it is ready for prime
time. Ask Dell and Lenovo who are loading it on business laptops
powered by Linux.

I can click on a .doc file and it opens OK. Must be something else. I'm
using Vista Ultimate and Office 2000.

Interesting... I have Vista Business and Office2000. But this computer came
with Office 2007 as a 30 day trial and I deleted it. I bet something's still
in the registry. Why do they not give you the "CHOICE" of installing a trial
version of any software. All I did for 1/2 day was uninstall bloated
crapware. Such is marketing these days.
