Cannot disable EIST (Vista 64)

Hi there,

I have a small problem but I believe it may be the root cause of a bigger
problem. I use my machine for digital audio work so I really need speed
stepping turned off.

I have disabled EIST in the motherboard BIOS.

However, Vista 64 still appears to be stepping the cpu speed. (According to
CPUZ - I can actually see the cpu speed halving until I load the system).

Please not again: I HAVE DISABLED EIST on the mobo BIOS and Speed Stepping
does not appear ine th power options within Vista itself.

Thanks for any help or advice anyone can offer.

:-)
