Windows Media Player 11 doesn't play some videos in IE7

I find that WMP 11 works with some web videos such as www.cbs.com using
Innertube, however it does not play videos on www.marke****ch.com or
www.morningstar.com . Any suggestions on how to get those to play?

Right-click on your IE icon located on the Quick Launch toolbar,
select "Run as administrator", then visit
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...ShockwaveFlash
to install the Adobe Flash Player.

I received a solution from Marke****ch. Apparently Norton's ad blocker
prevents some sites from working. When I turned it off, the videos played.

Thanks,
Norm Kaufman

That is one of many reasons I tell people to avoid Norton.
Norton tools worked pretty good back when Peter Norton ran it. But since
Symantec is running things, they suck.

Re: Windows Media Player 11 doesn't play some videos in IE7

it may be that you installed some other player also that is not able to play
videos in web sites and its set to be the default player for that. i had
that problem using vlc media player. i just had to uninstall it.

Re: Windows Media Player 11 doesn't play some videos in IE7

If I'm not mistaken, the ad blocker is a user option and not a Symantec
default.

I'm sure both Symantec and McAfee benefit immensely from all the bashing
that they receive in groups such as this one. Human nature dictates, "let me
try it and see if it works for me". And if you install the Vista compatible
version they both do in fact work very well.
