Vista Tutorial - product key

I keep getting a message asking me to type in the product key. I type in the
product key and I get the following message.

"The Windows Vista Home Premium product key you types is invalid for
activation."

What should I do now? And, I don't understand why I am getting this message
now.

You can get started with phone activation by typing "slui.exe 4"
in the search field in the Start Menu and pressing Enter.
The phone activation process takes about 6 minutes.

Thanks for your help

You may getting the message because your installation choice. If your Home
Premium DVD is an Upgrade DVD, then the Install has to start from your
Desktop, i.e., after you've booted into Windows. If, instead, you booted
directly from an Upgrade DVD, to start the Install, Activation won't accept
your key.
