Vista - uninstall programs

I have uninstalled many programs to make more space on my drive,
instead i go from 69gig to 67gig after the operation. I dont
understand.
I use vista home premium with a 100gig hd on a laptop.

Hi,

How much space you regain depends on the size of the programs. They could
have occupied a GB of space, or an MB. Try running a defrag.

I have uninstalled around 2GB of programs I should gain about 2GB of
free space,
I lost 2GB of free space instead.
Quite hard to understand.
By the way I did a defrag and no change.

yes I did emptied
the bin.

Maybe I do something wrong.
I will sleep on that.
