Unexpected Shutdown (Incident 999)

Mine all started on 6/30/07 and it has happened 13 times since then including
today 08/14/07. I have checked everyhting I can think of to see what is
going on to no avail. The only clues I have are as follows:

I checked the Vista Reliability Monitor and it shows all the "unexpected
shutdowns" as OS Failures.

I have been a 20+ year supporter of Microsoft but I must say this is getting
to be too troublesome to put up with. Anytime I find the same problem
mentioned over and over with a new OS it indicates a built in flaw. It is
time for someone in Redmond to get off their duff and put out a fix for this
fup.
