| | Wireless access Local Only I've a VAIO laptop running Vista Home Premium with a DLINK router. I've searched threads here and elsewhere and found similar problems but no definitive solution for my problem. The problem is I get seemingly random occurrences of Local Only access. I say seemingly random but it seems to occur after exiting sleep mode, after switching user or when going from battery power to mains power but not every time. The signal strength remains at normal strength hence no loss of siganl. The cure is sometimes to disable and re-enable the PCs wireless adapter, sometimes re-boot the computer and sometimes I have to power off the router. KIM (MS) replied to a similar problem in March and said it was being worked on but the thread ended soonafter. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |
