Any free remote software for Vista?

I need to connect to a Vista Home Basic PC from a Windows XP Home PC. Is
there any free remote control software that will do this? I need to remote
into the logged-on session of the Vista PC.

Thanks.

Re: Any free remote software for Vista?

I use both TightVNC
http://www.tightvnc.com/

and LogMeIn
https://secure.logmein.com/home.asp?lang=en

Logmein works better for my wife's laptop. When she puts it into suspended
mode, and resumes, the Tightvnc server service won't resume. Logmein
resumes, so I can connect.

Re: Any free remote software for Vista?

Ok. Logmein relies on logging into their site for functionality and
tightvnc is just software based correct?

Thanks.

Windows Remote Desktop that's sitting on both O/S(s) can't do it?

Re: Any free remote software for Vista?

I don't think Remote Desktop is that easy to use. I believe you need
Windows Messenger or Outlook to start it. Anyone with experience in with
Remote Desktop?

Re: Any free remote software for Vista?

I haven't noticed any issues. Other than some lag in screen updates. I use
Vista HP, and connect to VHP on the wife's laptop, and XP Home on another
desktop.

Re: Any free remote software for Vista?

Yes. The remote PC is Vista Home Basic. I will connect to it using XP
Home, not XP Pro.

Thanks.
