| | Re: Backup Fails - Error 0x80070005 Access Denied Hi, I am no an expert but I had the same problem. I'll try to explain what I did but the wording will probably not correct as my Vista is in Dutch. If you go to the backup centre, you can change the backup settings: Then: On clicking next, Uncheck your recovery drive for backup; On clicking next, uncheck the 2 boxes at the bottom (probably 'compressed files' and 'extra files'). My backup to DVD then passed thru all the way. I guess at least I got all my documents and personal folders now on backup. Hope this helps..... Can any of the experts around tell me this makes sense? -- walter ------------------------------------------------------------------------ walter's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=36287 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=804333 http://forums.techarena.in |

| | RE: Backup Fails - Error 0x80070005 Access Denied I received the same message when I first tried to back up on the Home Premium edition. Here's what happened: I ran the wizard, picked which I files I wanted and saw drive d and clicked it, not knowing it was the recovery drive, but it was there and I thought d was the cd/dvd drive and didn't know it was e. It showed that a backup was made. Where I don't know. Then I went to e and it even told me to label a dvd with the date and disk 1. It was supposed to say how many disks it needed but it didn't. Then when I tried to run it I received the error message "an internal error occurred ox8007054f. I don't know what happened. Then the next day when I go to my computer it said the back disk failed and wanted to do a system restore. I didn't because, 1 a tech chat with Raul T at HP told me not to do it,. that it wouldn't help. I should just ignore it, use burning to a cd/dvd or get an external hard drive. I don't have so many files and haven't loaded pictures yet. I didn't want to do a restore because I would lose the bit defender security 2008 I just installed after the chat(i wanted to do back up before installing it). He said I didn't do damage by clicking on the D drive which is one of the choices for back up. He also said that the first time you try to back up it does a whole system back up and I would need to many disks. I don't think this is so. 1. any suggestions as to how to get it to work or turn it off? (the tech wanted me to leave it alone but I don't want to get error messages. I think it was set for 1x per week on Sundays at 2 a.m - but if I use e-drive I would have to be there, and e drive back up gets me the above error. 2. How to I get back to the original back up wizard if I want to change the files to back up or the time, or do I turn it off. Please let me know if you found any solution or anyone else replying, PLEASE HELP!
