| | Photo Gallery malfunction.."not enough memory error" To all, Whenever I try to open up a photo using photo gallery the following error is displayed: " the picture cannot be displayed. You might not have enough memory available." Photo gallery is currently set up as my default viewer for all my pic's and when I dbl click on any picture file to be viewed, photo gallery locks up with no picture. you can see the menus and toolbars, but no picuture. The slide show feature works, but I cannot preview my pictures. When I right click on a photo file and select "open with" I noticed that there is two photo gallery options?? one will lock up like I explained above, and the other will open the photo gallery with all my thumbnails of my picures folders displayed.. when I double click on a pic in there, it will not display either.......Is there a way to uninstall and reinstall only photo gallery?? I have tried just about everything and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.. System: AMD A2-5000 2gb RAM 2 GeForce 8600gt (SLI) 200gb HD Windows VISTA Premium (up to date) |

| | Re: Photo Gallery malfunction.."not enough memory error" Hi zultar, Is this problem seen for a particular image file type (say, .JPG), or for all other types also? If it's a per file-type problem, try this: 1. Download FileExtInfo.zip from here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/fileextinfo.htm 2. Unzip the utility and extract the files to Desktop. 3. Double-click "FileExtInfo.exe" to run it. 4. Select the file type from the list box 5. Click "View file association report" 6. Copy the contents of the report and include it in your reply. -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com "zultar" <ucanfindme_at@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:uyuGhY34HHA.4436@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... | | Re: Photo Gallery malfunction.."not enough memory error" This is a problem for all files. Everything works like it's suppose to for all file types, however I cannot get my pictures to preview. Photo gallery just hangs with a little blue circle and than the error pops up. I have to clikc the back to gallery button to get it back.. Photo gallery will play videos though. It sure feels like it's something simple. but I'm pulling my hair out. Thanks for the reply Zultar |

| | Re: Photo Gallery malfunction.."not enough memory error" Zultar, See if additional information about the error is recorded in the Event Log. To open the Event Viewer, click Start/type "eventvwr.msc" and press {ENTER}. See if there are any events (related to Photo Gallery) registered in the Application log. -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] Windows® Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com "zultar" <ucanfindme_at@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:%23ohH3QE5HHA.5804@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... | Vista Ultimate | Re: Photo Gallery malfunction.."not enough memory error" The solution is to remove the profiles installed by your monitor drivers. To do this, go to Control Panel, Color Management, click on tab "All Profiles", and remove any profile associated with your monitor. Also, change your monitor driver back to "Generic PnP Monitor" or generic Digital Flat if thats what you have. Good luck. |
