| | change icon not sticking I have 4 icons for links to the weather channel (different areas). Initially the icons were for seamonkey (my default browser). I changed them all to different icons. Next day two had changed to the IE icon. I never use IE. When I open the properties to change the icon back, the icon on the properties window is the correct one. No way to get my changed icon to show on the desktop other than delete and start over. Next day they are back to IE. -- Gerald Ross Cochran, GA The man who makes no mistakes does not usually make anything. |

| | RE: change icon not sticking What are the size of your icons? Vista wants a larger icon than XP. I had this problem and I changed my icons from 36 X 40 to 65 X 71. I don't know if this is optimum but it seemed to have worked. -- Paul "Gerald Ross" wrote: > I have 4 icons for links to the weather channel (different areas). > Initially the icons were for seamonkey (my default browser). | | RE: change icon not sticking Right-click on Desktop, select Personalize, select Display Settings, then change Color from 32 bit to 16 bit, Apply, and back to 32 bit, Apply. This refreshes the icon cache. If you get your icons back but soon they are back to the IE generic, go to your icon, right-click, select Properties, General tab, check Read-Only, Apply. This will usually help retain the desired icon. There's also a nice program called FavOrg that manages Favorites icons. "PaulB" wrote: > What are the size of your icons?
