Recovery Manager doesn't

I tried to install Roxio 6xx into HP Pavilion using compatability for XP.
Upon reboot attempt, I recieved screen something to effect vista encountered
problem and was given options of automatic repair or start normally. Auto
repair essentially said problem couldn't be fixed. Normal startup wouldn't
work. Could not start in safe mode either. Using recovery manager, I backed
up my files and attempted factory restore. Formatting starts when using
recovery partition and "error 1002 if this issue continues pops up contact HP
support. I tried with recovery disks I made, it appears to have completed the
format, but as soon as it starts reinstall, the same error occurs. HP support
had me check HD through BIOS, no problems found. I've had compatability
issues before, but it never crashed the system, they just didn't work. To try
to change the OS to XP is a royal pain in the >>>. Any suggestions?

Re: Recovery Manager doesn't

I have been running it couple of times a week for several months and
no problems. I do check for updates every so often.
