formatting memory cards in windows vista

i have a micro sd card for my phone when i put it into my laptop running
windows vista and tried to format it, it will only give me the option to
format at 1.0 gb even though the card is 2.0gb any thoughts how i can format
this card please in vista

Did you buy this SD card on eBay? A lot of people have been ripped off with
fake memory cards. I think you might be one of them.

Search Google for 'fake memory cards' and see for yourself.

Actually, that guide did not mention that a lot of the time the fakes
actually work okay, but have overstated capacities. This guide for flash
drives does:

On Google you will find pages warning of fake SD cards in particular.

no i purchased this from a reputable retailer and when it was in my phone it
was okay and showing as 2gb
