Started today 08-24-07. Everything worked fine up until now.

Re: Windows Activation

I am getting the same problem relating to this. I have restored two previous
attempts and still an issue. Thereare reports on the web which states that
this is occuring.
Also contact MS via the phone and it activates but when confirming from MS
geniune site it fails.

Hi Sarge,

When you go into Control Panel (Classis) > System. Do you have the blue Genuine Microsoft logo? If you do, then I would not worry about it.

If not then:
If you are not using a OEM version of Vista, then you might try doing a clean (boot from dvd and format hard drive) install of Vista again. Install all of your drivers and Windows Updates first, then try to activate Vista.

If you have a upgrade version, you can see how to do a clean install here with it.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hi Lenny,

I discovered that there is currently a problem with Microsoft's activation servers. No one is able to activate as Genuine right now. You should wait a day or two to try again. If you are about to run out of time on your trial period, you can see this for how to extend the trial period until MS has their activation problem fixed.
