Have a Vista home edition. Office 2007 worked fine. Since
downloading OpenOffice that came with Firefox update, Word and Excel
no longer work, or only in Safe mode. Also Excel documents no longer
recognized. Help! Thanks.

Open Office does NOT come with the Fire Fox update. You must have
downloaded it separately.

It might have come with Opera then. I have removed OpenOffice and
have unistalled/reinstalled Office 2007 twice. The last was after
disc clean up from MS utility.

You must of download at an unofficial website's one of your programs.

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/ Firefox

http://www.openoffice.org/ Open Office (Not .com or not .net)

I would run spyspot S&D
http://www.safer-networking.org/

And

Adaware Free
http://www.lavasoft.com/

You should be able to do a repair install of Microsoft Office, that
should fix the problem, without having to do clean install.
