Re: Microsoft Activation servers

Did you try to activate and it didn't work? If so, they are down :-)

Re: Microsoft Activation servers

Why do people have to give smart ass remarks? I was wondering that too
because a post that I read made it sound like, if we go try it and it is
still down then it will mess up our Windows authentication. So, I wanted to
ask that before trying it too.

I posted a thread here last week about E-Mailing to activate Vista.
I have since found out that Microsoft has a TTY phone number for activation
so I searched for and found a free software program that allows you to phone
TTY numbers with your computer.
I have tried the software and it works pretty good, but the only number I
called was their tech support.
I have been unable to connect to Microsoft's TTY number and that is why I
asked if the servers are still down.

The software I am referring to can be found at

Here's why...keep this in mind when interacting with the public.

You should understand the principle of IQ. Draw a normal bell curve that
represents intelligence. There is a central tendency where the average
intelligent people are found. And by observation you will notice that half
the people fall to the right and these are intelligent people. The people
on the left are below average, less intelligent people. Conclusion, half
the people you run into in general society are below average intelligence.
Another observation, the dumb people are to the LEFT and FAR LEFT, (i.e.,
Mrs. Clinton)

You don't know much about computers.

There are several applications that are added to Win 2000 or XP that
will keep running if the kernel fails. As an example, we setup a factory
running on a small server where all coordination was done via a Windows
2000 OS with that application installed - ran 24/7 for 3 years without a
reboot.

In the industrial sector many processes are controlled by Windows
servers and workstations - production would halt without them running.

Stability is a matter of knowing the OS and hardware and not allowing
ignorant users to change anything.

You shouldn't say things you will regret.
You have no idea what I know about computers but are quick to jump to
conclussions based on your very limmited experience.

They are not what I would call critical and show that you have limited
experience with computers.

So if a computer crashes you have to restart the production line, so what?
When you have to design a system that has to be up 24x7x365 or people /die/
then you can start to wonder if windows or linux is the correct OS.
As no windows or linux OS runs on true fault tolerant hardware you can scrub
them instantly.

Stability is knowing all the possible inputs and hardware fault conditions
and designing the hardware and software to continue under any combination.
Not easy as I can tell you from experience.

No what you do know is that the spell chucker didn't run.
You are deriving stuff without reason again.
