| | Windows vista troubles - period ! Posted this here because none of the others fit. We are using Windows Vista now. On our old system using Windows XP we used Outlook Express as our mail system. However, when we try to find out any info (example: do a search on "outlook express") we get Outlook. Try it, what gives ? Ok, we admit Outlook does mail. But we want to set up Outlook Express as our system. Simply because Outlook does not have all the features of Outlook Express. Question: How in Windows Vista. ? Any suggestions welcome. Note: We is a 82 year old man with way too little computer knowledge to understand most of the answers we been reading. So, keep it simple please. PS: Yep (No jokes please, have more than eneough to last me my lifetime !) Goat Clipper is my real name ! |

| | Re: Windows vista troubles - period ! Sad to say: for increased functionality, speed, ease of use and security you are better off ditching Vista and going back to XP. In one of its many idiot, anti-consumer marketing decisions Microsoft has deemed users must use Live if they want to access hotmail because Microsoft can sell streaming ads that you would see at the Hotmail website but not through Outlook Express. Stinks, huh? You are better off using another mail and newsgroup program that will synch to Hotmail than the crud Microsoft offers. Of course, like many other types of programs, you may have difficulty finding a mail program that actually runs in Vista. |
