| | 64-bit drivers question Does the 64-bit version of Vista include drivers for 'standard' things like SATA Controllers, LAN, USB controllers etc? Also, my Epson Photo 900 printer has a 32-bit driver included with Vista, is it likely that there's a 64-bit version on the 64-bit disc? Thanks in advance! |

| | Re: 64-bit drivers question That depends if the hardware manufacturer submitted them to Microsoft or not. If the manufacturer did, then they'll be on the DVD; if not, then no. -- Richard G. | | RE: 64-bit drivers question I have two computers on 32 bit Vista and the driver for the Epson photo 900 works better than the XP Driver.( I also have a 1200 and an HP4 with jet direct. I would avoid the 64 bit version as an MSI X2 Athelon machine has had real problems with DVD/CD Drives and other "real world" devices. I am about to get a 32 bit install disk from Microsoft wih a new number and "dumb down" to Vista 32. I am running XP (dual boot) with all kinds of strange devices and everthing works fine and is faster than Vista by about double. I have a dual core x2 with 4 gigs of ram and thus "Vista Certified". I am old "cardog" and I have had every version of Microsoft including the one they bought 30 years ago. I try to be cutting edge but Vista 64 is bleeding edge.
