is a amd athlon 64 x2 processor a good one to run windows vista home premium
and what would the equivalent to this processor as an Intel???

Yes. Intel has a ranges of processors. A typical equivalent on the desktop
would be the Intel Core 2 Duo range:

Intel® CoreT2 Duo processor
Intel® CoreT2 Quad processor
Intel® CoreT2 Extreme processor
