Do you really know that you can get Nero 6.x to work with Vista or are
you just saying this?

I went to Nero's site, it will allow an upgrade to nero 6.6 which is
not Vista capable.
In other words, you need to spend to replace your software with 7.0 or
8.

Nero 6.6 Ultra works with Windows Vista as it did with all the later
Beta versions of Windows Vista.

What I did:
Copy the Nero CD to the hard drive and install from there.
Open Nero StartSmart.
Click "Nero Product Center" button.
Click the "Check now" button.
You are informed which modules you need. with an option to download
some or all.

I downloaded, saved them all and burned them to CD.

I get some error messages when opening Nero 6, but I can burn data,
ISOs, view DVDs etc.
Eventually I will replace with something compatible with Windows
Vista, but for now Nero 6 works.

Yes Nero 6.6 will work with Vista its just not supported and the INCD will
not work. But you can burn CD's

I could not run an ISO file from the hard-drive while I was using
Vista. A friend of mine at work is now having the same problem so it
seems to be Vista specific.

I couldn't get "alcohol 52" virtual CD to work while using

A buddy also complained that he couldn't find any way to run an
ISO file from the hard-drive with Vista.
Has anyone ever gotten this to work, or is it a really bad Vista
limitation?

Apparently, this will turn it off.
type "Services" at the (Start Search bar), right click on the Windows

i have a problem with my vista
when i tried to uninstall nero 7 from my pc halfway itself it stopped
so i couldn't uninstall properly

can u help me to unistall it?
i would like to remove from the registry itself!

What I did: Copy the Nero CD to the hard drive and install from there. Open Nero StartSmart. Click "Nero Product Center" button. Click the "Check now" button. You are informed which modules you need. with an option to download some or all. I downloaded, saved them all and burned them to CD. I get some error messages when opening Nero 6, but I can burn data, ISOs, view DVDs etc. Eventually I will replace with something compatible with Windows Vista, but for now Nero 6 works. (Note: this list is for the benefit other Vista users out there that may be able to take advantage of my time spent in toiling with compatibility issues with while using Vista ) I could not run an ISO file from the hard-drive while I was using Vista. I was trying to use "alcohol 52" virtual CD to work while using Vista, (BTW, it works great with XP). A buddy also complained that he couldn't find any way to run an ISO file from the hard-drive with Vista.
