Monitor resolution

I am using a new Vista machine with my old 20" monitor. I like the
resolution to be set at 1152x864 because of my old eyes. When I start the
machine, there is a vertical strip on the right side with no image. I then
change the resolution to another setting which restores the picture. I can
then return to 1152x864.

Is there a setting I can make to get the image to come up properly on the
1152x864 resolution? I had no trouble with the monitor when I was using win
98 (and using a setting of 800x600 which is close to the 1152x864 in Vista
for some reason).

Thanks

Drew

Are you sure that this vertical strip on the right has nothing to do with
Sidebar malfunctioning? Does the Sidebar appear there, or has it been
disabled?

Re: Monitor resolution

The sidebar is there and seems to be working properly.

Re: Monitor resolution

What is the maximum refresh rate the monitor will handle? Make sure you
don't have the video card to exceed that. There is a big difference in
800x600 than 1152X848 lol.
