Keyboard repeat rate too fast

No matter where I set the slider for the keyboard repeat rate, it
remains very fast. Secondly, I can't change the delay time either.
slider moves, but delay remains short at any setting. Never had this
issue with any other OS's.
Anyone got an idea for a fix?

Re: Keyboard repeat rate too fast

I can see the changes to the settings being reflected in the values in
the registry, but the keyboard repeat rate remains blistering fast. Yet
another glitch in Vista??

Hi Dave,

You might try deleting the keyboard in Device Manager and restart the computer to let Vista add it back to see if it will reset these keyboard options.

I haven't seen this issue before?

Is this a third party proprietary keyboard? Wireless? Do yo have the latest
Vista compatible drivers installed?

Re: Keyboard repeat rate too fast

Hmmm, usually the OS will override the BIOS but did you check the typematic
rate setting in BIOS?

Re: Keyboard repeat rate too fast

That would be the Toshiba keyboard drivers. Maybe you should try to
reinstall them.

I uninstalled the keyboard driver and rebooted. The drivers were
automatically reinstalled and the same problem is occurring.

Re: Keyboard repeat rate too fast

Try to download a new driver from Toshiba's site, or contact their support
as it is a driver problem and laptop drivers are specific to each model
