Seeking a process management tool (and guidance!)

To further improve Vista functionality on this laptop, I'd like
to remove/suppress everything that isn't necessary.
Unfortunately, I'm not sufficiently skilled to just go through
the list and get the job done.

Is there a source for true expertise on this? My objective is to
generate a list the processes and the status of each, and
compare that to a table of some sort which would derive at least
partly from my usage of the unit.

Thanks!

Hi Henry,

There is a free program called "Process Explorer" that will allow you to see the processes the way you wanted. I do not know about a comparison guide for them though.

Process Explorer for Windows v11.0

You might look at this tutorial for ways to improve Vista's performamce.

Speed Up the Performance of Vista

Hope this helps you,

Great stuff, Shawn. I'm very happy with Vista, but am sure that
a little trimming and adjusting will make it even better. The
resources you suggest are perfect...

Thanks!

There are no dumb questions - except

Except the ones that Brink asks!

Just FYI
