Lots of questions no solutions! Activation is not exactly a new concept for
MS, how can it be a BETA problem? Activate by phone? Wouldn't it be nice if
they provided a phone number? What exactly are we trying to activate? Some
BETA app. that's been handed out indiscrimatly to millions of users and is
going to expire on 6/1/2007 anyway! What they want is the feedback so what
do they do? Release the BETA with all the OneCare features except Anti-Virus
then plant the first bomb by making activation difficult or impossible
insuring that we'll be all over the net wide open and exposed to anything
that's out there waiting! Still trying to install that Trend Micro program
they link you to, downloads fine, won't install. Trend Micro support-not
inspired, thankyou! What we should be doing is hammering MS in every way
possible until they wake up and address this problem and be sure this issue
gets all the negative press it deserves-email everyone! Well I have some
time left before re-installing my old OS and after that's I'll start
investigating LINEX. At least if you must struggle with a problem it should
be a REAL problem not "I bought a new car and they forgot the ignition
switch". I wonder how MS will respond if I wrap up this liiiittle dsk and
mail it back to them along with my request for a refund on a defective
product? GOOD LUCK everyone!

From

DLL loaded successfully.
WebCoreActivate successfully resolved.
WebCoreShutdown successfully resolved.
Activating the Web core...
WebCoreActivate failed.
Error: 0x8007000d

This is an ERROR_INVALID_DATA status. This error indicates that your
configuration file cannot be located or contains errors. You should look in
the Windows Event Viewer for additional error descriptions.

Several posts say that this error may be connected to Daemon Tools, Alcohol
120% or other tools.

Activation will be part of the release version. It needs to be tested.

Please fill in the bug report. If you need to vent, that would be the
place.

This is a forum for Beta testers and others. Microsoft sometimes looks in
here, but I don't know how often, and there is no guarantee that they will
see your post.

Tren Micro is Trend Micro, Microsoft is Microsoft. Although Trend Micro
PCillin is available from Microsoft for download, it is still a Trend Micro
product, and not a Microsoft product.

If you want to hammer Microsoft, use feedback. That way they will actually
see your issues, and know about your hammering.

Be sure to back up your data now. Vista sometimes crashes and becomes
unbootable.

Betas are defective by definition. They are test software, if they weren't
buggy, they would be release versions.

You're probably going to get what you paid for it, nothing. If you want
them to reimburse you for postage, good luck with that.
