Vista - utorrent keeps freezing

I used it to download a 3 GB file last night.... didn't notice any freeze
ups, just slow.

It happens with me all the time.I get the famous,"this program is not
responding",message.I then have to bring up the task manager to shut it
down.

maybe it's a problem with 1.7.4 - i had surf problems with 1.7.2 and as a
result am using older 1.6.1 without a problem - if you do decide to roll
back be sure to uninstall the current version and plug the hole in your
firewall before installing another version

Some antivirus try to scan the big torrent files..
I know this from AVAST that utorrent help (on the site) tells you to disable
the scanning from the avast settings.
go to the utorrent help and see there where it says about antivirus programs
