Vista - startup repair taking forever

After an upgrade from XP, Vista will not load so I am prompted to boot up
from the disk and to perform a startup repair. I have done that but it has
been almost 1 complete day and stiil it is checking. I stopped it before and
checked t see if it was just stuck but it was working. Is it normal for this
process to take so long?

Hi Susa804,

No, this is not normal. It should only take about a couple of hours to do the install. I would recommend that you do a clean install with your Upgrade version of Vista. Be sure to backup anything you do not want to loose and have all of your drivers handy. This tutorial will show you how to do a clean install with the Upgrade version of Vista.
