hidden downloads

I have hidden downloads that I did not want to install. Is there a way to
clear or remove these downloads from the hide download file? I am using vista
ultamate.

Re: hidden downloads

Hi Roger,

What sort of hidden downloads? A file won't install unless you initiate it
and give it permission to.

Re: hidden downloads

Microsoft would have to modify their servers to accommodate you. The list
of hidden updates tells the server what to skip, so, yes, you need the
"hidden" list, so that they won't be offered to you...

Re: hidden downloads

Hi,

Well, clearing them would involve simply opening Windows Explorer to the
folder you downloaded them to. Or are you unsure of where that is?

Re: hidden downloads

I believe the hidden downloads are simply those that are available to be
downloaded.
I doubt that Update has already downloaded all those language packs for you,
for example.
When you hide them, all you're doing is hiding the reminder that they are
available.
In other words, if you actually wanted to install one, Windows would have to
go back out on the internet to find it, download it and install it. They are
not sitting around on your hard drive waiting to be installed.
