| | Re: how to make the administrator ID visible for logon choice? You cannot run as an administrator. You can only run as a user with administrative priviledges. This is a change from XP. | | Re: how to make the administrator ID visible for logon choice? Boot up into SAFE MODE and ADMINISTRATOR will be shown. Enable the account using COMPUTER MANAGEMENT options, add a password, and remove all other accounts so that only ADMINISTRATOR and GUEST are left. Reboot PC normally, and ADMINISTRATOR is offered. Not sure what happens if you add new accounts, ADMINISTRATOR might disappear again. | | Re: how to make the administrator ID visible for logon choice? I agree you can boot in SAFE mode and logon as administrator, but think you just set up a user account named Administrator for regular boot ups. | | Re: how to make the administrator ID visible for logon choice? There already is an Administrator account..by default it is disabled. 1) To enable it...Admin Tools-Local Security Settings-Secutiry Options-Accounts:Administrator account status(near the top of the list) set to ENABLE 2)Same area Interactive Login-Do not display last user name-ENABLE When you reboot there will be name and password boxes that are blank..by default your Adminstrator account does not have a password so leave it blank.
