| | User rights Hello, I'm using EPSON Scan version 3.04F to scan some documents to file. The software defaults to My Images (if that's what it is in English). It offers the option to send the images to another directory, but when I create and select one it says I don't have the right to write files to it. It's my computer. I'm the only user and I'm logged in as an administrator (I know you shouldn't do this, but how else can you work with V*sta). Why should I have to consult MS or a NG to find out how to obtain permission to use my computer? Regards |

| | Re: User rights Hi, "Where" precisely are you creating this folder? Certain directories, including "Program Files", are protected from being written to as a security measure. A user should be working within either their own user profile, or in the public one. Writing to protected directories requires deliberate elevation, even for an administrator account. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Christopher R.
