| | PLEASE HELP! I can't change my desktopbackground/enable administrative options I got some viruses on my computer but have taken care of it. I have run both of the scans that came with Vista and then downloaded another scan just to double check. It got rid of it all, but I still don't know how to reenable my administrative options (as the admin) in order to put a desktop background on and it's pissing me off. Please help, Vista is pissing me off. Oh, and that little glitch about Windows Media Player? Nice. Now I have to go through all of my media files and remake playlists. Blah. | | Re: PLEASE HELP! I can't change my desktop background/enable administrative options Try this then elevate your User to Admin also. Turning on the Administrator account is straightforward. First, open an elevated command prompt by typing cmd into the Search box on the Start menu, right-clicking the command prompt icon that appears at the top of the Start menu, then selecting Run as administrator . Then enter this command and press Enter: Net user administrator /active:yes From now on, the Administrator account will appear as an option on the Welcome screen, along with any user accounts you may have set up. Use it like any other account. Be aware that it won't have a password yet, so it's a good idea to set a password for it. If you want to disable the account and hide it, enter this command at an elevated command prompt and press Enter: Net user administrator /active:no "Amanda D" wrote in message news:2007918164359moonlit_child@xxxxxx Quote: >I got some viruses on my computer but have taken care of it.
