Vista - mouse pointer "snap to" function

In setting up my mouse pointer, I selected the "Snap To" function, which is
supposed to send the pointer to a "default" position (like OK, for example).
However, the mouse pointer is not going to the default positions. Instead it
goes to some other area in the window. Any ideas what's going on? How do we
fix this?

Microsoft wireless optical Model 1067. I have not checked for Vista update.

If it works under those conditions, the software is the issue. You can try
simply uninstalling the software and rebooting but more than likely, this
will require uninstalling the software, deleting the mouse in Device
Manager, disconnecting the mouse or the wireless adapter for it, shutting
down the system, reconnecting the mouse adapter, boot the system and let the
system find the mouse. Then, check to see if the snap-to function works.

I don't think I installed the Intellipoint software when I upgraded to Vista.
I could be wrong about that, so will try your suggestion. Can't harm
anything. Will get back to you. Mike

Are you using this mouse with a laptop or a PC? If a laptop, it may be some
conflict with the touchpad that might be overcome by disabling the touchpad.
If a PC, this issue may be specific to that mouse or its drivers and no, the
left hand does not always talk to the right hand so just because it is a
Microsoft Mouse, doesn't mean it is less likely to have an issue with Vista
than another mouse.

Next question, do you have access to an XP system? If yes, you might try
this mouse on that system and see if you have the same issue.

Michael, you are terrific, thanks. I have a pc, which was running XP before I
switched to Vista. The "snap to" mouse function worked perfectly on that OS.
