Vista - Copy to E: drive prompt, how to get rid of

I copied some files today to a CD and thought that was that. Now every time
I reboot the computer I am greeted with a prompt (a balloon) to 'click here
to see the files waiting to be copied' .... or something like that.

Other than copying those files, how can I get rid of that prompt? Thanks,

Click on the balloon, select the files and press the Delete key.

Vista has two methods of CD writing, the Live File System which allows the
user to send files to a CD much as you would with a floppy disk or hard
drive or a mastering system that first sends files to a temp area waiting to
be written to the CD.

For more information about these methods, go to Help and Support on the
Start Menu, type CD Writing, press enter, in the list that appears, open
Burn a CD or DVD, both options I have mentioned are listed with links that
will take you to explanations of both.

Yes, good point. I don't copy files to CDs a lot. But every time I've done
it (even in XP) it's confused the f--- outta me.
One thing you should do, if possible, is look at the CD in another computer.
It could be blank!
As long as you were still getting that balloon, every time you looked at
that CD in the computer you burned it on, it might look like there are files
on it, but it could be that Windows was only telling you, in effect, these
are the files that would be on this CD if you were to finish burning it.
As I said, it's confusing, but trying the CD on another computer should
tell you if the burn process went through the was it's 'sposed to.

In Vista, if I look at the "copied" files on the CD and the files are grayed
out, then I know they were not successfully copied.

Yes, I did see your first thank you.

Did you see the excellent suggestion by Michael Solomon that you should verify
that the files were indeed successfully copied and to use Windows Help and
Support for information about the two file systems Vista uses for CDs/DVDs?
Frequently when you get this warning, the files were not truly copied yet.

I did what you said and clicked on the ballon,highlited the files and
pushed the delete button and it deleted the files in the ballon and also
deleted them on my C: drive and i had to go into the recycle bin and rcover
them any thoughts??
