Missing icons from Notification Area

Two of my system icons are missing from my Notification Area, and I can't
get them back using the Taskbar and Start Menu control panel! I am missing
"Volume" and "Network." What am I to do?

Re: Missing icons from Notification Area

right-click on the taskbar
select Properties
Notification Area tab
[x] Volume
[x] Network
ok

Re: Missing icons from Notification Area

I have Vista Ultmate 32 bit operating system. Just downloaded some updates
and I have the same problem described above. It is not as simple as checking
boxes since the boxes are "muted" as in not available for checking. Any
other solutions?

Re: Missing icons from Notification Area

I found another post which fixed my problem. Just log off and log back on
then go to the taskbar properties and the check boxes and words are there to
be checked for displaying them.

Re: Missing icons from Notification Area

You usually have to reboot the computer after installing updates. I did this
morning.
