windows explorer has stopped working....window explorer restarting

I am getting this message: windows explorer has stopped working....window
explorer restarting constantly. It seems to happen most when I do something
in Control Panel, maybe like uninstalling a program or checking on my
security settings, basically anything. I don't know if a program is causing
a program. I recenently installed Roxio Media Creator 10 but then
uninstalled it because it used up a large amount of memory and I didn't like
that.

Here are the specs of my computer (built by myself):

RE: windows explorer has stopped working....window explorer restar

hi ,there is no cure you will have to try a system restore from boot (usualy
with limited success)or do a full re-install . the problem is caused by
incompatible software being installed ,there are numerous "fixes"but i have
not heard of one that works all of the time for all of the people so you
could end up searching for fixes tryng them and still not getting anywere

Another option is to use Control Panel (Classic view) > "Problem Reports and
Solutions" to obtain clues as to what is causing the problem when you right
click on the problem and View Details.

Re: windows explorer has stopped working....window explorer restar

your'e forgetting that when this happens you can't open anything when it
happened to me i had to disable all security and restore from boot because i
couldn't open anything so looking in event manager is pointless

Re: windows explorer has stopped working....window explorer restarting

I am having the same problem and have tried several fixes which have not
fixed it. Its not a fix but an alternative I use Free Commander which is
a free program like Windows Explorer but has more features.

Re: windows explorer has stopped working....window explorer restarting

What is the specific fault information for *your* crash according to the
Problem Reports and Solutions Center control panel?
http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#bucket
has how to look that up if you don't know how.

Each crash is potentially different, so there's really no magic bullet here
given how much each person's computer can be individualized.

fix it.
