| | reporting problems with this website Where does one report problems with this newsgroup website? When I click on 'Post' I get an error that says that an error occurred and my post didn't succeed - obviously a bogus error. FWIW, the error occurs with both IE6 on XPSP2 and with IE7 on Vista beta 2. |

Configure a real newsreader like OE or Thunderbird to access the newsgroups. |

Does not happen on the other MS newsgroups when using a browser, only on this one. |

Regardless, it's not going to get fixed any time soon. |

I post on several, but not many and haven't seen it except on this one. I have seen other errors, such as 'server unavailable, try again later' but unlike this problem, those posts do not get through. > Regardless, it's not going to get fixed any time > soon. Like many other M$ bugs... My opinion - if Microsoft is going to continue to offer this as a free tool in lieu of providing no-charge support, either make it work or scrap it. Especially since it is more likely to be used by novices that would be intimidated by setting up and using a newsreader. Anyways, I have been asked by the MVPs in the past to report such problems with the web interface to the support staff, but unlike other web browser accessible forums, there is no link on the page saying something like "click here to report problems with this website..." so I have to slog through the standard Microsoft support labyrinth to report a bug. I found what I think is the correct, but poorly-named page "Contact us: Questions about Microsoft Products" so I'll bookmark that and see if they continue to be responsive about fixing the problems I've reported in the past. Sorry for the bandwidth consumption. |

There are others around if you prefer but I use free agent on Vista with no issues at all. Jonah |

Yes, but that is one of the handier features - it is still a bug. I just posted to the XP General Discussion group and the error did not occur, even though 'Notify me of replies' was checked. > "jonah" wrote: > > > On Mon, 3 Jul 2006 10:41:01 -0700, wyocowboy > > <wyocowboy@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > > > > >Where does one report problems with this newsgroup website?
