Vista - Vista is doing strange things to Epson R1800 printer colour manage

I need some help to neutralise whatever Vista is doing in the colour
management tab in printer properties for my Epson R1800 photo-printer. There
are a huge number of options there but it is not clear what each one does and
so far I have been unable to find any guide. I am an experienced Photoshop
user used to working in a managed colour system -- my Eizo monitor is colour
calibrated and I am using specific ICC profiles for the Epson paper. I have
recently migrated from Windows XP to Vista.
The situation is that an image file displayed on my screen is a good match
for a print made from Photoshop/Windows XP which is as I usually get so it
seems that the monitor is not a problem.
But when I print exactly the same file (using exactly the same settings in
Photoshop) from Vista there is trouble -- the whites are still white but the
blue sky has taken on a yellowish tinge whilst red rocks are washed out and
have a greenish tinge. The mapping of colours seems to have been affected by
Vista and so far I have not found a way of neutralising whatever Vista is
doing. I wanted to do all my colour management from Photoshop.

to contact Epson tech support for further discussion about the Vista
drivers for that printer.

Hi Malke,
Thanks for the post. I am using the 6.5 version driver from Epson which I
believe is the latest. It runs fine. I have tried both the Epson supplied ICC
profiles and the one I purchased specifically for my printer -- they all gave
excellent results with XP. But not with Vista.
I know MS have made big changes with Vista on how the OS manages colour and
the tabs/options for setting up printer colour management in
printers/properties/colour/colour management are new -- I have it configured
to "use my settings" and all my ICC profiles are there available to the
printer. But there are a whole load of other options under the advanced tab
that I'm not at all clear on. And I haven't found any guidance.
Any other ideas - especially what options in the advanced tab as it seems
the OS is changing something. Or could it be the worst case, and that XP was
changing things but Vista isn't, in which case I would have to get a whole
new set of ICC profiles.
