| | BSOD Vista Install 0x000000EA I am attempting to install Vista Business on a heavily upgraded HP x4000 workstation. I was about to finish the installation, and I got a STOP 0x000000EA BSOD. This is caused by a device driver, and safe mode gets me to the point where it says that it cannot finish the install in safe mode, then it reboots. Is there a way to pinpoint which device driver is the culprit? Or any way I can get this to install without dark rituals and other voodoo? |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: BSOD Vista Install 0x000000EA Well, this is an OLD post but I figured I would just reply since I have been upgrading my old HP X4000 over the years. It seems to be holding up and I was able to upgrade it to Windows Vista (also Windows 2008) although the memory cap at 4GB sucks. Anyway, I am running Windows Vista Business on it now, but for anyone having problems booting this sucker with Windows Vista you have to download drivers. You can probably find it on your own with Google search but just to make it easier for everyone else: LSI53C1030 Basically LSI drivers for all flavors of OS for your old HP X4000, but my machine is running smooth with this driver... Unfortunately, I am running the HP BIOS so does anyone know how to replace the BIOS on this thing to the TYAN version? |
