| | Drivers for Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse and Desktop Elite Keyb It is really very odd that Microsofts own hardware products do not provide real driver support for Windows Vista. How can they expect other manufacturers to do so if they aren't doing it themselves? I have a Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2 and Wireless Desktop Elite Keyboard - they are now running with generic keyboard and mouse drivers. This means that all of the extra features these products have are not supported. I have tried isntallign the available packages but they refuse to install. There might be a command line to have the installer ignore OS version - does anyone know what that is? |

Not offhand, report the bug to MSFT. I doubt they actually make the things or write the drivers though that will be farmed out somewhere. Use a PS2 Mouse & Keyboard with Vista if you have problems with the trick stuff. It will get sorted for the final release. I am using vintage Win95 KB & Mouse with PS2 adaptors no problems at all. | | Re: Drivers for Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse and Desktop Elite Keyb Try right clicking the setup file, if you are brave, select Properties>Compatibility Mode>Run this....Windows XP. This may do two things for you, a.)give you what you want or b.)screw up things so bad that you may go psychotic. B is very much an option so proceed with caution. | | Re: Drivers for Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse and Desktop Elite I'm using the Intelipoint 5.5 software with my Laser 6000 set, only one problem with the zoom (reported). Everything else seems to work. I don't remember how I installed it, it's been a while, but I couldn't have had too much in the way of trouble doing it. | | Re: Drivers for Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse and Desktop Elite Are you talking about this in Windows Vista? I thought there were previous posts that said the Intellipoint 5.5 software would not install in Vista. I just tried this - I choose compatibility with XP SP2. I get to a screen which asks me to choose which mouse I am installing. I strongly suspect that a list is supposoed to be displayed, but none is displayed and I can therefore not continue. |

| | Re: Drivers for Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse and Desktop Elite If by "he" you mean me, then that's not quite right about the drivers, although maybe I shouldn't say that, you tell me if these are generic. Mouse: Driver Date 01/12/05 Version 5.5.661.0 Driver details show a couple of new drivers alongside the 5.5 ones, 6.0.5384.4 As I said, all is working as it should except for the zoom feature, it keeps on zooming out, almost to the microscopic level. Keyboard: Driver shows as a later version, must be in vista, 6.0.5384.4 Everything works, even the zoom Ray "Copenhagen" <Copenhagen@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:8FF296AC-1B1D-46EE-8BA6-EAAA670C8875@microsoft.com... >I am sure he means that the hardware is installed with generic drivers and > works with minimal features. > > "Rick" wrote: > >> Are you talking about this in Windows Vista?
