| | Windows update fails - Vista Home Premium Error 80040153 I've an activated version of Vista. Updates went smoothly until the end of Aug Since then it has 2 updates which it repeatedly tries to install but fails. Tools, update does not attempt to find more recent updates and just returns the error code above. Any ideas? I have a second Vista Home premium machine and this is fully Updated by Windows update. I can only find this error code referred to in Windows server 2003 |

| | Re: Windows update fails - Vista Home Premium Error 80040153 Thanks for responding I've taken the plunge and reinstalled Windows as my PC was regularly crashing after sleep mode. However, I'm not impressed with Vista error codes which Microsoft does not document on the Web.
