Vista - Can´t Vista connect to wireless ad-hoc automatically?

i have one PC and one laptop with Vista Home Premium.
The Pc has the Asus M2N32 Deluxe wireless adaptor.
Laptop has its own wireless adaptor.
I have no router.
If i setup both computers at access point, no one can find the each other.
If it is ad-hoc there is no option to connect automatically.
Doesnt Vista offer an option to connect to ad-hoc wireless automatically?

Vista can connect to ad-hoc wireless networking just fine.

Computers and devices in ad hoc networks must be within 30 feet of each other.
Otherwise, you need a wireless router.

I have the same problem. None of the replies are relevant. The closest
thing I have read that may be relevent is on a microsoft page where is
says you can set up the ad-hoc network as a permanent network but
doesn't say how.
The question Carey and I'm asking is, how can we set up the Ad-hoc
network, such that when we turn on the computers and that they connect
to the ad-hoc network. It worked fine in XP, but I can't seem to do it
in VISTA. At the moment we have to click connect on both computers,
which is stupidly anoying.

yes, thats exactly that.
waht microsoft say is: "An ad hoc network is automatically deleted after all
users disconnect from the network or when the person who set up the network
disconnects and goes out of range of the other users of the network, unless
you choose to make it a permanent network when you create it."
But i guess they dont mean what we want unparagoned, but they mean we can
"save" the network so that the next time we turn on the computer it will
still be there.
i think we cant do the automatically conection unless we have a router and
make the network as "access point".
It is a bad point of Vista.

use the inbuilt Vista one. Like Thinkpads come with Access Connections.
