Unablet o upgrade to Microsoft Update from Windows Update

HI all,

I have just preformed a Restore from Complete PC backup and all restored
smoothly. Reason I did this was to roll back to Pre-SP1 Beta.

Now when I try and use Windows Update I cannot upgrade to Microsoft Update.
I get a Windows Update 6 webpage and then another IE window opens that
gives me Windows Update 4.

This is rather odd and is there a workaround to get Microsoft Update for
Vista back?

This was working fine when I took the backup image so can't see why it's
broken and it was meant to be a clone of the Windows installation.

So much for "Complete PC backup".

Anyone else hit this problem ?

I've got the same problem in very similar circumstances, restored system from 6 month old pre SP1 backup due to disk problem and very poor backup schedule !
(thankfully personal data on separate drive with manual copies)
