Attempting to dual-boot Windows XP with a preinstalled version of Windows Vista recommended. Then after you see how faster and better XP is you can forget about vista forever! | | RE: dual boot: xp with oem-vista Carey, Can you tell me then please what I should do because Pro Tools still does not work on Vista and I NEED IT. I also have several thousand dollars in waves plugins and programs that I can't afford to update and that don't work in Vista. What do you recommend?? besides going back in time and kicking my own ass before I was dumb enough to have it installed? | | Re: dual boot: xp with oem-vista If I were in your situation, I would purchase a new hard drive and a "full version" of Windows XP Professional (if you do not have an unused license). Remove the current hard drive that has Windows Vista installed and then install the new hard drive. Then proceed to install Windows XP: Clean Install Windows XP http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User --------------------------------------------------------------- "Auri" <Auri@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:A7206E73-6963-4D58-B8DB-BC1F6B3B92A0@xxxxxx Carey, Can you tell me then please what I should do because Pro Tools still does not work on Vista and I NEED IT. | | Re: dual boot: xp with oem-vista Thank you Carey; at last a simple, effective answer to my 17 months of hell with Vista Business, and I get to put an axe through the Vista infected hard drive. Now if only I could sue Microsoft for selling an operating system unfit for purpose.
