Vista Repair

I had to repair Vista yesterday as a file was not loading or found. Now that
I have done that I have found all my mail has been wiped and also folders I
created have gone. Is that what happens or are they stored somewhere??.

Any help would be great . Thx

Stuart.

Re: Vista Repair

I had to boot from CD/DVD then the option came up to install or repair. I
choose repair. All the other files and setting have not altered, just my mail
seems to have all be reset to the default settings.

Re: Vista Repair

Hi,

Open Folder Options, set it to see all hidden and system files. Look then on
the root of C: for a windows.old folder. I suspect your 'repair' was
actually a reinstall? If so, it would have moved the old installation to
this folder, and your personal data as well as mail files would be there.
You may need to take ownership of the folder in order to access it.
