| | Hearts game not running right, need help My husband plays Hearts all the time...now all of a sudden we are getting a window popping up with the following message: The game is running in software rendering mode. Hardare acceleration is either disabled or not supported by your video card driver, which could slow game performance. Make sure you have the latest video card driver installed and that hardware acceleration is turned on. We have no idea what this means....it worked fine until just yesterday and this started. Could anyone help us???? |

Could anyone help us???? Is hardware acceleration enabled? Is DirectX enabled? Enabling the video hardware is dicey because it would vary from system to system. Here, I can't even do it as the drivers do not permit the adjusting of it via the Display Setting's Advanced setting's Troubleshoot tab. I would have to use ATI's Catalyst. If you use Nvidia, you probably can find their applet in the Control Panel. Anyway try this: Right-click on a blank area of the Desktop then select 'Personalize > click on Display Settings > hit the "Advanced settings.." button > go to the 'Troubleshoot' tab and adjust the slider [if present, if possible]. Otherwise use the video card software and enable 3D, video acceleration or what have you from there. +++ You also should check the DirectX settings: Start > All Programs > Accessories > right click on Command Prompt and select 'Run as administrator' When the Prompt opens type in: dxdiag [then hit Enter] And check the various tabs to see if DirectX is enabled.
