Vista - Reliable OS?

I am in the process of building a new machine used primarily for web and
Windows Server applications. Visual Studio, SQL Server, remote
connectivity, monitoring, etc. Would you consider Vista reliable and
dependable enough to use as a primary OS?

Sorry, I meant web and Windows Server applications development....

Thanks, I appreciate your feedback. However, based on my further reading,
it doesn't seem that a lot of others agree. XP SP2 has been very reliable
for me and I am simply afraid of making the move to Vista only to find that
I get lots of troubles.

yo dude u should take the leap for vista...by far no one was really concerned with vista and doesnt know its true power...i just built a computer 3 weeks ago with the specs listed below and it is amazing..u might need to remove some bugs in the 64bit version and if u do have problems jus let me know

Well, I disagree. If you wish to install Windows XP,
an O/S fast approaching its intended end-of-life-cycle,
you won't be sorry. However, it is not as secure
and reliable as Windows Vista has proven to be.
