impossible to remove "read only" flag

I tried to remove the "read-only" flag of a folder and it's files. It's
impossible. I select the folder, then properties, uncheck "readonly", click
ok and select "apply to all files and folders". i don't get any error. but
if I go to properties again, "read only" is still set!!

Maybe the following articles will offer some ideas:

Windows Vista -
Why can't I clear or set the Read
Only attribute checkbox on a folder?

Windows Vista -
Why do I get an Access Denied
error when trying to save my files?

Re: impossible to remove "read only" flag

There are over 10 MILLION hits on this topic in Google.

The read only attribute of a folder has no meaning, you cannot change it.
Don't worry about, there's plenty of real problems in Vista to keep you up
nights.

Don't lose any sleep over it... it's been that way since XP.
