| | Could not Remote Desktop into Vista Ultimate I don't understand why it wouldn't work, here are the things that I've done: 1. Selected Under Remote Settings - Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop. 2. Network Discovery is ON 3. Checked Remote Desktop and RDP (port 3390, TCP) in Firewall Settings. (Default port has been changed to 3390) Here's the thing. I can remotely connect to my XP Pro Machine, but my XP Pro Machine cannot communicate locally with my Vista Ultimate, even when entering the host name or the ip address of the Vista Machine. I tried this on the Vista Home Premium Machine as well. I know there's a third party client UltraVNC, and by using that, it defeats the purpose of having an Vista Ultimate Operating System. Any help is much appreciated. |

What error are you getting, or what happens when you try to connect? Can you ping the Vista machine from the XP one? Are both computers on the same LAN, or are you trying to connect through the internet? ss. |
